Questions that should not slow down a ranking.
Start as a guest, bring your own list, and save only when you need to. These answers cover the common edges.
Frequently asked questions
What can I rank?
Anything you can describe as a list: books, films, meals, destinations, project ideas, candidates, purchases, or your own categories. You are responsible for having the right to use any text, images, and links you add.
Do I need an account?
No. Guest mode is the default, so you can try the ranking board before signing in. Guest lists remain in the current browser session and are designed to clear when that session ends.
What changes when I sign in?
A signed-in account can keep private saved lists and return to them later. Saved account lists are private to their owner by default.
How do imports work?
Paste one item per line, or import structured rows from comma-separated, tab-separated, pipe-separated, or JSON data. A header can identify fields such as name, description, image URL, and source URL.
Can I add images and sources?
Yes. Each item can include an image URL and a source URL. Use stable HTTPS links and only add material you are permitted to display. A source link is context, not a substitute for your own commentary.
Can I change the tiers?
Yes. Tier labels, descriptions, colors, and order can be edited. Good tier names describe a real difference in judgment rather than simply dividing the list into equal-sized groups.
How do I make an ordered ranking?
The current board emphasizes tiers with ordering inside each tier. You can create a strict order by using one tier and arranging every item, or follow the conversion method in the ranking guide while dedicated ordered-list controls are developed.
Why did my guest list disappear?
Guest data is session-only. Closing the session or clearing browser data can remove it. Sign in and save any ranking you want to keep.
How do I request deletion or report a problem?
Use the Contact page or email privacy@rankingledger.com. Include enough detail to identify the relevant account or content, but never send a password, payment detail, or authentication code.
